Kelley, I mean the question seriously. I do not, ever, know what "middle class" means in *anyone's* vocabulary until they have specified it. The question may reflect irritation with your use of it but it does not label you -- too many people use it in too many different senses for an objection to it to be a label? Do you make a career of misplaced sensitivity. David Hume said of Rousseau, he was forced out into the world without a skin. Does that apply to you?

After all, that is one thing most marxists, however differently they may answer the question, agree is a real question: How do we identify classes?
