Trailers

Dear John,

Mike Hoover came up with some interesting stats on manufactured housing that he posted on Pen-L.

On a business trip, out to the Gary, Indiana area this week, I couldn't help but notice the number of trailers/manufactured homes in northern Ohio-Indiana and the Gary area. According to Mike Hoover 1 out of every 3 new homes is a manufactured home.

A very wonderful businesswoman friend of mine, now deceased, got into the trailer business in the late '60's. The dear lady was very astute and very much ahead of the curb in this business.

I don't know what the depreciation factor is on manufactured housing or how they are financed?

Then there is the old story of the fellow from Arkansas, who "heped" his rich uncle take the wheels out from under his new house.

Your email pal,

Tom L.
