As I said earlier, I'm finished for now with the death penalty thread, but there is a possible link here to other issues.

To be opposed to the death penalty (i.e., the imposition of death as a criminal penalty, using the full machinery of the state) does not conflict with the proposition (true in itself and necessary for the maintenance of solidarity with oppressed peoples) that sometimes good results can be obtained by killing people.
