Many jail and prison systems are beginning to charge prisoners for medical care. Again I would like to recommend *Prison Legal News* as one of the most important journals now being printed in the U.S. It is an immensely rich source on what is actually going on in the U.S. penal system. They covered sexual abuse of women convicts by guards, for example, long before Amnesty International or any other mainstream source mentioned it as significant.
