which Wilson became Eisenhower's Defense Sec. in 1953 (Defense Dept. was War Dept. until 1944)?

GE's Wilson was director of the Office of Defense Mobilization during WW2...he called, in 1944, for creation of a 'permanent war economy... [which] must be initiated and administered by the executive branch [with] the role of Congress limited to voting the needed funds...' (Fred Cook, _The Warfare State, 1962, pp. 66-67)

oh yeah, 'the executive of the modern state' as a 'committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie'...Michael Hoover
