Query on Henry Adams

Someone mentioned an article by Henry Adams. I iimediately lost
track of that post somehow.

But anyhow I would like more information on the essay. The post
gave its date as 1887, but my Library of America Henry Adams
in its Chronology in the back gives nothing for that year. That
series is almost always inadequate in its apparatus, so I would like
to know more about the essay mentioned and where it can be
found.
