Cuban Baseball

Notice that the last two U.S. World Series Champions had a Cuban pitcher as their hero (they are brothers to each other too). The Marlins guy made a leaping catch of a line drive back to the mound, a superman play, last year, for the second to the last out, in an incredible performance. This year El Duke was the stopper against Cleveland, or the Yankees may not have made it to the World Series.

If Fidel and the revolution let one or two players go each year, the Major Leagues will soon be taken over by Cubans.

Vive Fidel !

Did anybody catch the Cuba - Baltimore Orioles game Sunday? It was edifying to see Cuban pitcher Jose Contreras, who makes $10 a month, strike out so many of the Americano$. Of course, he was also being scouted as a cheap, "skilled labor" replacement for so many of the overpaid Americans currently keeping the team at or near the salary cap...Still, I hope the Cuban catcher was talkin' trash.
