It's equally hard to believe that it's Clinton -- not Reagan, not Bush -- who has nearly exhausted the nation's supply of cruise missiles. The Balkans bombing campaign has proved a complete fiasco, and I think sheer desperation could draw the Administration into on-the-ground involvement soon, despite a horrendous domestic backlash. It's certainly happened before. (Hey, hey, LBJ!)

Yep, we're waist-deep in muddy water once more -- getting sucked deeper and deeper into the quagmire.
