Nonsense. The US didn't bomb the UK into the Stone Age, did they? Instead US firms gradually coopted Brit markets. The world wars of the 20th century have been about conflicts in the semiperiphery, not conflicts in the core. The credit card is mightier than the B-52. And guess what? The US no longer owns the credit card.
