As concerns the Balkan region, special attention will
need to be given to integrating fully the countries of
former

      Yugoslavia into the Pan-European system, as a
support for the reintegration of the region. Former
Yugoslavia is not,

      from the perspective of transport networks, a
different world from the other CEECs. It is at heart of
the Union's efforts

      in promoting cooperation both regionally and at
European level.
