you might get boring at times Barkley, but don't brag about it.
I was specifically wondering why, in the context of Louis' generalised posting (see below) of his thing on 'why 'ethnic albanians' are deserving of their treatment', there seems to be such a willingness on avoid a full discussion of it where it has appeared.
Louis said he would not discuss this with Barkley on lbo any further because,
"Barkley, I don't have plans to keep the same thread going on LBO-Talk and
>PEN-L at the same time. Too promiscuous. I will answer you there." see below
for where Louis has posted this same article. it doesn't seem to be the
case then that Louis doesn't want people to read his post, but he is clearly
unwilling to have a discussion on it, and in this he is safe in thinking that
others' inclination to avoid flames will allow this to proceed largely
unscrutinised.
it seems then either that discussion of key issues such as this are either allowed to happen, or the lists become a simple and uncontested site for those who are (unlike Barkley) not restrained by the prospect of boring others, or indeed by the fear of entering potentially inflammable topics.
And, given mark jones' comments such as "Today the Yugoslav army seems to be clearing the decks by expelling the last Kosovan Albanians (good riddance to bad rubbish in my opinion).", it would seem that some challenge is required.
I guess I'm also asking whether or not i should regard the silence and the silencing as consent.
