re: doug's question (if the pomos are the "linguistic left," what's everybody else?)--i'd say "not solely fixated on language". reason i like the term linguistic left--tossed off as a joke initially--goes back to the roots of pomo-ism in linguistic theory, and the relentless tendency down unto the present day to view the world as a text, and politics as a pretext for turgid, interminable proto-literary theorizing.
