And it says in the Constitution that the Senate, which by giving small (rural, conservative) states exactly the same weight as large (urban, less conservative) ones is one of the U.S. system's greatest offenses against democracy, cannot be abolished without the consent of every state. Since that's impossible, there's no way to get rid of the damn thing short of shredding the document.
