FWIW, I agree that the genocide story was crucial to the intervention argument.

Of course, one could argue that in the face of a possibility of genocide, intervention could still be justified. And since when is it okay for a country like Serbia to evict an entire population from its homes, even if nobody gets killed? What up with that?

After the fact, the merits of the present situation and what *might* have been done thru pre-bombing diplomacy are not obvious to me.

Hope I slinked enough.
