Monty Python must be writing the script for geo-politics. The Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party rings the opening bell on the Wall Street Stock Exchange, Halloween 1997, and Henry Kissoff is on his way to China on behalf of Mickey Mouse.
Hollywood is trashing the evil Chinese Communist Empire while the White House is rolling out the red carpet (no pun intended) for same. The medieval theocratic state of Tibet is worshipped by yuppie progressives as a utopian society. The Dalai Lama is a reincarnated god (who got a lot of help from the CIA) and is now worshipped by the trendy American airheads who denounce feudalism and misogyny when it exists at home.
The huffing and puffing about the Tiananmen Square "massacre" would carry more moral authority if anyone remembered Kent State, Jackson State, Attica, People's Park Berkeley, the Panther murders, Wounded Knee, the Symbionese Liberation Army, the MOVE House, Pan Am 103, Ruby Ridge, Waco and TWA 800, to name a few U.S. domestic atrocities of recent vintage - this is not to mention the millions of people killed outside the U.S. by CIA/DoD covert and overt actions in the past 50 years. Political prisoners in China? Check the USA. We have more political prisoners than any country in the world.
Prison labor in China? Check the U.S. federal and state prison industries and chain gangs.
Democracy in China? Where is the democracy in the USA?
