Economics and Class Construction

Hello all.  I'm trying to compile a reading list for a semester's independent 
study in  economics with a focus on economics and class construction.  In 
addition to  economists and sociologists, I'd like to include the works of 
some applicable cultural and linguistic theorists.  Any suggestions?
