Man, the pro-gun people sure are rationalist with a great faith in human
reason and rationality. I thought philosophers were bad.
Sure, if everyone was motivated by reason and rationality, widespread
gun ownership might be safe.Sort of like one of Hermann Kahn's game
theory tournaments where the Inca's always and without exception defeat
the Spaniards. But it just ain't so. They should read a little Hume
"reason is and ought to be a slave of the passions." Especially in
America where things tend to run a little to the,err, irrational side.
