In the medieval time, the commoners had the step out of the pavement to the gutter to give the right of way to aristorcats. If they refused, they were punched and pusged by the aristocrat's henchment. Fortunately, we live in more democratic times today: the latter-days aristocrats, the suburban yuppies in their BMW and SUVs, act as their own henchmen.

btw, has anyone seen a commercial in which an SUV is compared to medieval armour, and the narrator's voice says how they subdued the 'uncivilised barbarians?'

a related question: do they sell bazookas at gun shows?
