I say give it a miss. Just speaking as a fan of the show, I'd much rather hear an analyst you think can teach me something. And as gossip, I just couldn't give a damn what the guy thinks or how clownish or intelligent he comes off. Maybe 20 years ago, it might have made a funny comment at a party. But today it would take too much prep to be worth it. The odds are it would just be 20 minutes of wasted time, IMHO.
Against the low odds of a worthwhile segment, I think you have to weigh the near-certainty that one of the people (or magazines) you've attacked in the past will cite his presence on your show to defame you someday, and that stupid as the charge will be, it will stick like a chigger.
