If they could, laborers would heed the words of Karl Marx and unite. But the Communist Party has outlawed independent unions and jailed those

who have tried to form them. Even informal attempts to organize end in disaster.

CB: Whereas the formal attempts to organize won the Chinese Revolution.

Workers of the World , Unite ! refers to thinking beyond trade union consciousness to class and socialist consciousness. Marx didn't mean unions should be "independent" of the Internationale. Such "independence" is a euphemism for isolated , shortsighted suckers of the bourgeoisie.

As Ben Franklin said, if we don' t all hang together, we will all hang separately.
