Actually, my comments had nothing to do with the content of Yoshie's statement, only with her desire to dictate what is and what is not proper for "the movement." That doesn't mean one can't criticize the Free Tibet movement--one should--but Yoshie's comments belie an intolerance I find a bit disturbing.
I am decidedly ambivalent about the Free Tibet movement. You might even say I don't care: Choosing between an authoritarian, "socialist" (albeit heavily industrialized, er, advanced) state and a movement of religious-based feudalism is no choice at all. I think I'll sit this one out, coach. Which is a shame, because I really wanted to be on Brad Pitt's side on this one.
