What in god's name are you talking about? Reducing it to a battle of gangsters vs. cops - without asking any questions about the real extent or cause of gangsterdom - is another page out of Rudy's playbook. Why do we have so many "criminals and delinquent elements"? Do we really have as many as you & Rudy say? Does it have anything to do with massive polarization, a money-obsessed society, and an elite looking for excuses to snoop and jail?

But I'm a bourgeois liberal, remember? Public trials, due process, minimal criminalization of behavior - I like all that stuff.
The U.S. still incarcerates a larger share of its population than the "socialist" countries ever did, except maybe in Uncle Joe's heyday.
