charles, last week you asked me why i thought anti-racism was a political and intellectual dead-end and how abolitionism, that is, anti-whiteism, differed from anti-racism. last year, i wrote an article for the newletter i co-edit, "the new abolitionist" (the publication of which is suspended until i return from france in may), entitled, "why abolitionist are not anti-racist". you'll find it in the february 1999 issue. there are some things i would change and it could have been written a little better but it is a pretty solid statement as is. i hope you (and anybody else who checks it out) finds it useful.
