Arghiri Emmanuel?

Has anyone got any information on the author Arghiri Emmanuel, who wrote
Unequal Exchange (NLR/Monthly Review), Profits and Crisis and
Appropriate or Underdeveloped Technology (John Wiley)?

I know that he was teaching at French universities, and I had it in mind
that he was an advisor to a third world government (Tunisia?) but I
can't remember where I dreamt that up.

Anyone know if he's still with us, or written anything else?
