Didn't this move by the Bush lawyers seem to be a favor to Gore, right from
the start? It seemed to bring the idea of re-counting the whole state onto
the radar screen. And it was a Bush witness, the guy who invented the
voting machines in question, who had created documentation saying that his
improvement on the machine used in FL was invented because the old machine
might call for hand counts because of the defects, or something to that
effect. Then this weekend on one of the Pop Pundit programs, it was a Bush
operative being questioned, who also mentioned the idea of a count of the
whole state. Was it a Dole gaff? Can't remember. But certainly many odd
turns by the Repugs. A Capitalist's dream. Gore expands NAFTA and
"reforms" Social Security, and thousands, maybe millions of rabid
right-wingers, stung by the real bear market, will be looking to attack any
of Gore's commie friends after he's ruined the countty. Will it be
communist parents revolting against bad schools? I could see it heading to
that type of, what you say, zeitgeist? Or whatever.
