You underestimate Aristotle. I hope that this is not because as with
other leftists all that matters in his body of his biological work is his 
male chauvinism. Please consult "How Aristotle Discovered DNA" by the  
Nobelist Max Delbruck in Physics and Our World: A Symposium in Honor  of 
Victor Weisskopf. After a careful examination of The Reader's work on 
biological inheritance (which is arguably more acute than the insights of 
even Darwin who came to respect no one more than Aristotle) Delbruck shows 
that  Aristotle's idea of the  unmoved mover, discredited in Newtonian 
physics in which action equals reaction, perfectly describes DNA which 
creates form in  development, but does not change in the process.
