Until the AFL adopts a position according to which US trade sanctions will only be campaigned for, against a country, when such a course of action is explicitly endorsed and indeed driven by the workers or democratic political movements to be adversely affected (i.e., it is in synch with their own empowerment strategies), Sweeney will be considered a labour aristocrat by good comrades in the global South. Simple as that.
