How long does anyone conceive that the ephemeral coalition between labor and 
environmentalists will last when the NW Aluminum (congealed electricity) 
industry is forced to cut way back or even shut down in order to prevent the 
extinction of native salmon?

When the basically non-unionized timber industry was forced to adjust to 
cutbacks in the Ancient Forest extraction industry, Big Labor resounded by 
sending troops to Indiana to campaign AGAINST Rep. Jim Jontz, D-IN because he 
had introduced a bill that would have protected America's fast vanishing 
Ancient Forests. For their efforts, union supporter Jontz was defeated and 
they got a right-wing successor who has been as rabidly anti-union as they 
come.

Great strategy. Some alliance.
