It's not the *lack* of involvement that bothers me, Billy.  It's the *form* 
that it takes on this list.  This list is an interdisciplinary effort, which 
means that academic specialists have to recast their thoughts so that they 
are accessible to non-specialists.  If discussions here are too arcane and 
jargon-filled to be understood by other participants on the list, what 
chance do we stand of developing ideas that will appeal to the general 
public?
