Heh, heh, heh ..... thought you guys might be interested in this from "our man in Bangkok"
Enjoyed this [ie: our daily sales desk email - dd] reading all the way
to the bottom. You'll be delighted to note that ******, who is the
World Bank's point NGO-relations personnel at the WB office here in
Bkk, spent yesterday meeting with the protestors outside the UNCTAD
meeting trying to persuade them to chill out. Her boss charged her
with the task of gathering intelligence to find out if more than pies
would be flying this week. She didn't actually speak with the
pastry-thrower but chatted with some of his crowd. She spends today
hosting Mrs. Wolfenson (a/k/a "Ms. Wolfie", her husband is known as
"The Wolf"). Streets here are jammed as protestors have blocked off a
major thoroughfare. Haven't had this much excitement since the baht
was devalued.....
