Check out the Mekons, folks, definitely a left band. Maybe a bit too boozy
and rowdy for some but generally funny, angry and smart. Their masterpiece
is 'Fear & Whiskey' from the mid-'80s, available on CD as "Original Sin."
One of their LPs's (Honky Tonkin', I think.) references several left texts,
including Thompson's "Making Of The English Working Class."
