Save us from 60s Nostalgia (RE: Sweeney Defends Gore Endorsement

While we're recommending books, there's new one by
Mike Kazin and Maurice Isserman on the 60's.  Two
guys who were there and involved, and are still
involved.  My interest is not in criticizing
student activism today, but protecting the record
from some of the breathless depictions found on
LBO.

    Just remembered a book by Peter Levy on The New Left and Labor (think
that's the title) that might ground some the contrasting points made by
Nathan and Max in some more historical data. Reading it a few years ago I
remember being annoyed at some minor errors in the footnotes and
bibliography. Still have a look, think it's part of the Univ. of Illinois
Press series on the working class in American history.
