"Communism is 20th Century Americanism" CPUSA slogan during the Popular Front. Haven't read all the way through the Ted Morgan biography of Jay Lovestone, CPUSA leader till 1929 and "American Exceptionalist". Did Lovestone comment in Labor Age on the slogan?
