Hi Yoshie:

>Hey, check out a special issue of _Race Traitor_, #9 (Summer 1998):
>"Surrealism: Revolution against Whiteness."

I saw that issue in my partner's office. She has explored the influence of surrealism on Aime Cesaire and Alejo Carpentier. The former was influenced by automatic writing in his great *Notebook of Return to the Native Land*. Carpentier who was in Paris in the interwar years developed found the grotesque and absurd within the colonial condition itself and developed magical realism to explore it. She also examines at great length the influence of Oswald Spengler's philosopy of culture on Carpentier.

Yours, Rakesh
