Yeltsin deal?

Over on Stratfor they've been saying that they think Yeltsin was pushed out by the military and KGB who wanted to put their own man in the presidency. Also, they think that the pardon of Yeltsin might serve as a model for the way the oligarchs might be dealt with in the near future. The oligarchs would be required to return to the state most of the wealth that they had stolen in turn for a pardon and for being permitted to keep enough money to remain very comfortable.
