<<To All,

I have books of the Bible, Shakespeare, Jefferson and Twain giving quotations on various subjects. Is there such a thing for Marx wherein I can read his pronouncements on most economic, class-struggle subjects? If not, why not? Thank you.

Bert>>

Hi Bert, I have a copy of "The Karl Marx Dictionary," published by Philosophical Library of New York in 1965, edited by someone named Morris Stockhammer its pre-ISBN but the library of congress number is 65-10660. Here is a sample:

Insomnia-My terrible insomnia makes me very restless, but has psychological motives.--Ltr. to Engels

Naturally there are other quotations less tangential to Marxism, but that is the one I opened to.

It's doubtful it is still in print, but sometimes the contents of warehouses can suprise you. Your best bet for finding it would be to check some of the OP booksearch sites such as the following:

<http://www.abebooks.com/>

<http://www.alibris.com/cgi-bin/texis/searcher>

<http://www.bibliofind.com/>

<http://www.bookfinder.com/>

<http://www.bookwire.com/>

<http://www.powells.com/>

If you still can't find it there is always the fellow who comes to the Socialist Scholars Conference who brings a truckload of old lefty texts. There are probably other booksearch sites and there is always amazon.com. mcapri
