Paramilitary

In the past on this list I've mentioned the paramilitary occupation of Mansfield, Ohio by paramilitary security guards and scabs in the employ of AK/Armco Steel Corporation.

Yesterday, I got a call from a Steelworker worthy who brought me up to date on the latest developments in Mansfield.

The city of Mansfield had passed an ordinance requiring security guards working within the cities boundaries to register with the city.

About 10 days ago this ordinance was found unconstitutional by Judge Manos in federal court in Cleveland! Naturally, AK/Armco Steel Corp and the corporation providing the paramilitary security guards wanted this Mansfield ordinance overturned.

>From what I can gather AK/Armco is issuing phony id's under pseudonyms
to the paramilitary security guards. If a paramilitary/scab gets hurt in the mill, AK/Armco is taking them to the hospital and paying cash rather than register the patients name. AK/Armco has a cop on the payroll acting as a bail-bondsman if any of the paramilitarys are arrested.

I see a lot of stuff about posses and militias on this list. I've never seen a posse or a militia---I have seen these paramilitary security guards/scabs! I haven't seen any stats on this--but--it seems that paramilitary security guards are being used in the majority of labor disputes taking place today.

If you want to see black uniformed booted paramilitary thugs--just visit the scene of a labor dispute!
