Robert Wade (1996), "Japan, the World Bank, and the Art of Paradigm Maintenance: The East Asian Miracle in Political Perspective," _New Left Review_ 217?[I think]? (May/June).

It's a good article. Wade did a lot of legwork for it. But you will not be surprised to learn that I have some--sharp--disagreements with it.
