Impressive memory, Doug.  I just checked the site again and while the online 
issue is dated Jan. 31, 2000, this piece is ID'd "Issue date: 02.22.99; Post 
date: 12.14.99." TNR's dating method is confusing (must be postmodern), but 
this is clearly a retread.  Little that it matters.  As "deadhorse 
palerider" astutely noted earlier:  "Aint nobody ever changed their mind 
bout pomo."
