Not a comment on the new Tom Frank book but on Von Hoffman. He was a co-founder with Saul Alinsky and Robert Squires- (?), anyone read the Sanford Elwitt, bio?- of the Woodlawn Organization in Chicago. Found this on the web, looks interesting. http://www.iit.edu/~bronzeville-stories/history.html Von Hoffman's book, "Capitalist Fools, " unfortunately, sunk w/o a trace. A friend who read it said it was a fine read.

And has Rick Lazio, made anything of Hillary writing her dissertation on Alinsky? Supposedly it was deep-sixed.

And today, Napster went to court here in S.F. Marilyn Hall Patel, a good liberal judge, has the case. (Heresy! Good liberals!)

Finally, today and tomorrow, Terry Gross is having two full shows on the Repub Convention. Today, reps from Unity 2000 and the PDAG folks were on and a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter. http://www.whyy.org/freshair/
