May be the miscommunication comes because were talking about different
things.  Doug seems to stress that a college diploma pays a premium.  Of
course, the very few people are worse off for having a college diploma --
economically speaking only.  Other people are insisting that the college
diploma itself is being devalued; that it functions now much like high
school diploma used to be.
