NCSU College of Engineering requires me to take an intro economics. Of course, my section would be taught by a straight-up neoclassical, worse yet a proselytizer. (Call him Dr Pangloss :-) We've gotta do a short paper based on some articles he's selected about health care from the NYT, of the slant "Aren't you glad you don't live in Britain or Russia?" Being an uninsured temp, I find this especially galling ...

I'd really appreciate pointers toward some concise rebuttal material. ("Short" because I'm one of those works-for-a-living, schedule- impaired "older" students, and also because the assignment's not worth that much :-) I like

but something newer than 1993 is preferred.

Please reply directly to me as well as the list/group (I'm on the digest), and TIA, Tom_Roche at ncsu.edu

-Do a research about health care in the World Socialist Web. They have many articles on this matter: http://www.wsws.org/index.shtml -Also try serach the medical journals:

Journal of Canadian Medical Association

New England Journal of Medicine (has a liberal opinion on this, defending sometimes a system closer to Canada) You can research them at: http://www.vmed.com.br/boleana.htm I suggest you to do the research using: National health system (and) United States
