Not really. The original fashion for blue jeans was based in a pride in their shapelessness and uncomfortableness -- and they were much more so in both respects than prison fatigues before fashion reshaped them. It's true this is a slightly new twist. But that's what fashion is all about. There's certainly nothing new about outlaw worship -- that's pretty much what nostalgia de la boue has always been in the US.
