South to import software from North for first time
SEOUL, June 16 Asia Pulse - North Korean computer software will be officially imported by South Korea for the first time.
Herbmedi.com (www.herbmedi.com), an oriental medicine information site operator, said Friday that it will import a program that classifies physical constitutions and diagnoses from Korea Computer Center (KCC) in the North. The software will be imported through Asahi Network, a joint venture of North Korea and Japan located in Beijing.
The program, developed through North Korea's advanced fingerprint recognition technologies and Korean traditional medicine theories on the four-kinds of constitutions, can report one's constitution automatically after simply touching all ten fingers to the monitor.
Herbmedi.com President Lee Seung-kyo said it agreed June 8 to pay US$100,000 for introduction rights and upgrades on the program.
"The programs will be handed over from KCC within two months and medical equipment based on the program will be supplied to domestic doctors of oriental medicine," Lee said.
