Sure, we know that the Bush proposal would destroy the Social Security system. On the other hand why has Gore gone along with the BIG LIE that there is something wrong with Social Security? Is this more triangulation from Gore? A little lubricant before we get it put to us again! Should the American people's money be used to allow the out and out tax subsidization of private profit making corporations and for profit middle-men?

Why? Well in my experience you can't win an election arguing with the public. The media has dinned into the voters that Social Security is in crisis and needs saving. The public believes it.

You cannot argue with the public and win an election. If you try, the typical reaction is not gratitude for your correcting of the guy's misunderstanding. The typical anger is outrage that you disagree with him/her.

So, Gore is "saving" Social Security. As I read his proposal it sounds ok and does us no harm. Robert Ball is his advisor on Social Security so I'm reasonably sure that Gore means no harm.
