Last year Antonio Negri hit the headlines of Italian newspapers as it was reported that he had started to write a column devoted to the comment of sacred texts in the magazine of the Servant Sisters of Mary. Negri, who at home is better known for his alleged role as the theorist of Autonomia than, say, his Paris lectures, was questioned on this issue by rather puzzled journalists and he replied that he had previously found himself praying to the Virgin Mary and to Our Father in order to ask for bread and forgiveness for all.
