It seems racist to me -- or at least "culturist" -- to hold that the Makah may not be engaged on the question of the ethicality of some of their practices. I believe the Makah can probably stand up to it. It's not a matter of Western imperialism -- the most famous proponents of "animal rights" so-called have been Asians who lived long before anybody thought of the West.
