In all of the rhetoric surrounding China MFN/PNTR one thing is ceratin:
the multinationals are sparing no expense to have their way with
Congress. The Business Roundtable(a group of major American CEO's), the
Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Manufacturers and other
business groups have dedicated over $15 million dollars to help pass
China MFN/PNTR. They are buying television advertisments to mislead the
public and are visiting legislators in their congressional offices.
They are telling congress that if they don't support China MFN/PNTR, big
business will not contribute to their campaigns for re-election. They
are trying to buy the vote on China MFN/PNTR!
