Unfortunately, the EU has some free-trade stormtroopers in the erstwhile "workerist" camp which runs South Africa's trade ministry: the EU-SA free trade deal recently signed promises to have devastating impacts on Southern African output as a whole, via an SA-led Southern Africa Development Community trade zone now coming to fruition. And a US-Africa free trade deal has been on the cards for a couple of years, just awaiting approval from textile industry barons...
