I've read a rather lot of Chomsky's linguistics, and some of his books on American foreign policy, and to put it bluntly, I haven't been impressed enough to go out of my way to read about his politics. I find his writing about linguistics more than amply appalling.
So, I've never investigated his politics to closely. I know he calls himself a "libertarian socialist," but everybody calls themselves a libertarian these days. What is he actually calling for? Is there any succinct statement of what he's for?

Another problem I have with Chomsky is his making a swear word out of the words "big business". He never offers a credible alternative to the modern corporate form. Chomsky should put up or shut up. That's all there is to it.
